It's settled. Out of the fog, into the Blog has won out against Is it a hog or is it a BLOG? as the name for this amazing new series of raves and rumbles on graphics communication. But what's with the silliness you might ask. Does it mean you can expect to be steered off topic from the professional tips and advice you were hoping to find? Is the respectable field of graphics and design going to now take a backseat to the mad ramblings of a creative type... or worse... turn into a set of sober treatisis on farm production?
Nope, were going to forget all about hogs after this post (at least I really hope you'll let me!). Truthfully though, there's a little more to the story. Perhaps because some of the technology words like "blog", "podcast" and "dot com" seemed to have a, well lifeless twang to them, I have always felt a certain distance between myself and them. At first I thought it was the blogs themselves that were the problem, until I realized just how truely revolutionary it is to have so many fresh new perspectives available. I am now certain that blogs are valuable. Instead of being in the hands of the predicatable few, the mic is arguablly now in the hands of anyone who chooses to speak. If they have something good to say, people will listen. If they don't, they can still speak as much as they like... although probably no one will listen.
I admit that this post is a little bit silly. But, hey you do appeciate a little humor don't you? At least I made the right decision on the name, I think. If I hadn't, I have a hunch that 95% of intelligent people would have probably just hit the back button... I promise from here on out, Out of the Fog, into the Blog is going to deliver the goods.
By the way, isn't she cute?
